Forensic Scientist at Brazilian Federal Police Department (DPF) for over 18 years, A. Canelas has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering and currenctly part of PhD program in Chemical Enginneering. A. Canelas is member of the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts (IABPA) since 2012. He was trained for the best BPA institutes in North america and Europe (Miami-Dade Police, United States; Blutspüren Institut, Germany; Loci Forensics Institut, Netherlands and Cedar Crest College Forensic Institut, United States). A. Canelas has been working with BPA since 2009, and operates in several States of Brazil assisting in hundreds of BPA cases. A. Canelas is a BPA instructor at Brazilian Federal Police Academy for over 6 years. He also develops BPA documentation and assessement focusing on transport phenomena. He is website editor and author of the book "Bloodstain Pattern Analysis- From Crime Scene to Report Elaboration", 360pages (portuguese language), released nationally in October 2017 in Florianópolis / SC, Brazil. Currently, A. Canelas is part of the PhD program in Chemical Engineering at Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, with the theme Bloodstain Pattern Analysis on Fabrics.
